__Week 3__

Newton's Laws (Sections 4.1 thru 4.4); Sections 4.5 and 4.6; problem solving from Section 5.1.

Exam 1 given.

__Week 4__

Sections 5.1 and 5.2 (two days of examples); circular motion (Section 5.3) and friction (Section 5.4); start work and energy (Section 6.1).

__Week 5__

**Mon 2/6: **
Section 6.2.

This lecture usually includes a conceptual overview of integral calculus,
defining the work integral as the area under the graph of the
force as a function of position. The main example, which applies
to our central problem of finding the work done by a spring,
also makes it clear (because the example is one also used at
about this point in Calc I to show the meaning of the derivative)
that the integral is the anti-derivative.

**Rest of week 5**
Sections 6.3 and 6.4; Energy conservation in Sections 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3.

__Week 6__

**Mon 2/13: **
Section 7.3 (examples), the last material on Exam 2.

**Rest of the sixth week:**
Start unit 3,
(*Sections 9.1 thru 9.2 on momentum and examples from Section 9.3*).

**Thurs 2/16: **
Exam 2, __Sections 4.1 to 7.3__ covered by HW-06 thru HW-11.
