There is a
that you must sign before you can participate in the lab.
This lecture will emphasize the most important points
and explain how it applies in our lab. You can also

The following general points are emphasized:
As soon as you arrive, put your backpacks, etc, in one of the cubbies along
the back wall of the room after getting out your lab book, lab notebook,
pen, and calculator. Do it now.
Use of the emergency phone in the lab and the location of a campus 911 call box,
fire extinguisher, and fire alarm in the hall outside the lab.
Proper fire exit route and behavior.
(Turn right when leaving the lab, then left and assemble next to the parking ramp.)
Location of emergency shutoffs in the lab.
Emergency procedures to follow in
case of an accident in the lab.
Importance of keeping the lab station and floor clear of all
unnecessary materials, particularly backpacks
(which belong on the storage shelves),
and keeping the work area neat and well organized.
Hazards from water (and location of the mop).
Hazards of 120 volt AC power.
No food or drink in the lab.
