Prelab

Answer all 7 questions on pages 211 and 212.

Comment

We will follow the procedure in the lab manual and use a stopwatch to measure the time required for the system to make 10 oscillations.


Apparatus

As you can see below, the setup for this lab is almost the same as for the one on conservation of energy. The difference is the addition of a stopwatch, which is not shown in this picture. (You will not have the motion sensor that is shown sitting on the floor, and the computer will only be used for the least-squares fit.)

As in the conservation of energy lab, you are free to position the meter stick and spring so that it is easy to make the position measurements.
