Week 3

Thurs 5/25: 

Wrap up material from Unit 1 (Sections 24.1 24.3), then Sections 24.4 (power) and 25.2 (series and parallel circuits).
Note: Students planning to major in physics or computer engineering should read Section 24.2 carefully for future reference but it is not part of this course except for the basic idea about how collisions result in resistance and power dissipation in conductors.

Week 4

Mon 5/29:  Memorial Day Holiday (no class)

Tues 5/30:  Sections 25.3 and 25.4 plus Section 23.1, starting capacitance.

Wed 5/31:  was devoted to Exam 1.

Rest of week 4:  Sections 23.1 through 23.3.


Week 5

Mon 6/5:  Sections 23.3 and 23.4.

Rest of week 5:  Section 25.5 (RC Circuits). Start magnetism, Sections 26.1 through 26.4, plus the basic idea of Section 26.5 as an introduction to Ampere's Law (Section 26.8).


Week 6

Mon 6/12:  Section 26.8, Ampere's Law. Some of the applications of Ampere's Law may be part of Unit 3.

Rest of week 6:  Continue with Unit 3 (Sections 26.5, Biot-Savart, 26.6, and 26.7 followed by Section 27.1 and 27.2, Faraday's Law).

Thurs 6/15:  Exam 2, sections 23.1 through 26.5 ? covered by HW-08 thru HW-13 ?. (tentative)
