Comment: A key thing to learn in physics is how to solve problems you have never seen before by applying a few simple principles. The one step most students leave out that an "expert" never leaves out is called "draw a picture" or "draw it again". Many problems will literally solve themselves when you draw the picture, and this also helps you identify what question to ask yourself that will help bring a multi-step problem into better focus.

Note: Extra handouts are normally placed in a folder outside my office, SM 290.

Note that this class has Calculus I (MAC2311) as a pre- or co-requisite
and that PHY2048L must be taken at the same time as PHY2048 unless you already have earned at least a "C" in it.

What advice would you give to a student currently taking trig concerning
the skills and knowledge they need to take with them after they pass the class?

from my Fall 2004 PHY2048 class. It hasn't changed in a decade.
