PHY 2048L

Comment: A key thing to learn in physics is how to solve problems you have never seen before by applying a few simple principles. The one step most students leave out that an "expert" never leaves out is called "draw a picture" or "draw it again". Many problems will literally solve themselves when you draw the picture, and this also helps you identify what question to ask yourself that will help bring a multi-step problem into better focus. In addition, all students should review the comments on my course preview page.

Note: Extra handouts are normally placed in a folder outside my office, SM 290.

Note that this class has Calculus I (MAC2311) as a pre- or co-requisite
and that PHY 2048L must be taken at the same time as PHY 2048 unless you already have earned at least a "C" in it.
