IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS COURSE

Always bring your textbook, a pencil and a calculator to class. No sharing of calculators during tests. Take notes in class. Exams are based on material discussed in class. In order to do well in this class, you must study the assigned material in the textbook and work assignments outside of class. You are encouraged to ask questions during class, to participate in class discussions, and to visit your instructor during office hours or by appointment.

Grade in course will be based on the following allocation:
Each of the 5 unit exams will count as 17% of your grade. Assignments will count as 15% of your grade. Exam grades will be scored as follows:

A 100 - 90, B 89 - 80, C 79 - 70, D 69 - 60, F 59 - 0.

Attendance: All students are expected to attend all classes. If you must drop the course, make sure you have a drop form properly completed and deliver it to Enrollment Services by the designated date. Students who stop attending class and who have not properly submitted a drop form to the Enrollment Services on or before this date will receive a grade of F. Your instructor reserves the right to submit an administrative withdrawal for students who are excessively absent from class.

Exam Policy: If due to dire circumstances you cannot take Test 1, 2, 3, or 4 a make-up exam will be given the last day of class. A grade of zero will be assigned for any missed test unless (1) there are emergency situations that you can document and (2) you have discussed the situation with your instructor as soon as possible by office visit, telephone, or after class.
